Pipestone System, an agricultural organization based in Minnesota, now uses the reloadable BlazePays Visa® Prepaid Card managed by Capital Prepaid Services for payroll.

As part of its move to reduce costs and migrate to an electronic payroll environment, Pipestone is using the BlazePays Prepaid card to streamline its biweekly payroll processing for nearly 150 of its 700 employees.

Pipestone System manages employees and resources to raise pigs for its family farmer-owners across five states.  Pipestone System enables smaller family farmers to raise market hogs efficiently in their family farm business.

The BlazePays Prepaid Card allows Pipestone to better serve its geographically dispersed or unbanked employees. There is no cost to the employee for the reloadable BlazePays card and it can be used anywhere Visa debit cards are accepted. The cards are automatically reloaded each pay period, making it more convenient for employees to manage their money. It also reduces the time involved in processing Pipestone's payroll.

"With BlazePays, our employees can better safeguard their hard-earned money," said Colette DeSchepper, Accountant of Pipestone System. "Using a reloadable prepaid card for payroll makes it easier for us to pay our employees, but also gives them an electronic payment tool that can be used to pay bills, purchase groceries and other goods, or shop online."

DeSchepper added that moving to a prepaid payroll card is part of Pipestone's strategy to reduce paper payroll checks, thereby reducing payroll costs. The BlazePays card expedites that strategy since it is less expensive and more convenient than cutting and mailing checks.

Employees can carry a balance of up to $10,000 on the BlazePays card, and it is FDIC insured and offers Visa's Zero Liability policy for lost or stolen cards. Employees also have online access to transaction data and account balance information, which is easily accessible on a smartphone with the free BlazePays Mobile App.
