FarmTek, a leader in agricultural equipment and supplies, would like to announce it has extended its new Heroic Harvesters program to partner with the Farmer Veteran Coalition (FVC). The Heroic Harvesters program aides U.S. military veterans looking to build a career in the agriculture industry.

In order to take advantage of FarmTek’s Heroic Harvesters program, veterans must carry an active membership with the Farmer Veteran Coalition.  The program also offers access to FarmTek’s controlled environment agriculture (CEA) schools where industry experts educate attendees on the latest in agriculture technologies and techniques, including hydroponics, greenhouse growing and aquaponics.

There are a number of hurdles that former U.S. military members experience in the agriculture industry, but with the Heroic Harvesters program FarmTek helps facilitate and streamline any veteran farmer’s process from start to finish. The Heroic Harvesters program provides special financing options, educational programs and priceless consulting.

“This new partnership with the Farmer-Veteran Coalition demonstrates our continued commitment to those who have given so much in service to our country,” said Barry Goldsher, CEO of FarmTek. “We are proud and honored to support the Farmer Veteran Coalition’s mission of helping a new generation of farmers and food leaders through the collaboration of the farming and military communities.”

Based in Davis, Calif., the FVC believes that food production offers purpose and opportunity, as well as physical and psychological benefits for all veterans. The FVC works with veterans from all military branches, their families, employers and mentors to support those returning to or beginning careers in food and farming.
